2025 Fall CSA Registration

Our Fall CSA kicks off soon! Registration is open to new members. See below for details!

Why join a "CSA"?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a mutually-beneficial relationship between farmer and customer or "shareholder" in which both share in the bounty and risk of sustainable agriculture. In exchange for a pre-season fee paid by the shareholder, the farmer commits to providing the shareholder with a box of fresh vegetables on a weekly basis. The shareholder accepts the risk that crop variety may change with the risks inherent in agriculture. The farmer accepts the responsibility of providing shareholders with consistency and quality each week.

By joining a farmshare or CSA program, you are becoming a part of the farm and investing in us so that we can grow your food. Your upfront investment helps us take good care of the crops and purchase materials in the spring when the farm is not generating income. Then we turn that investment into healthful food and return it to you throughout the season!

Our CSA is about good food and fellowship. We grow following the organic growing standards so you can be sure your produce is as fresh, healthy, and nutritious as possible.

We offer a Summer CSA that runs from June to October, and a Fall CSA that runs from October to December. When we have enough produce available in the "off-season" of January to May, we offer "a la carte" ordering for our members.

What does a typical share box include?

Each week we carefully curate a "Farmers Pick" CSA box of our premium quality fresh vegetables. Full and Half share members will receive 5-10 items in their boxes totaling 25 credits; Light shares will be 3-5 items for a total of 15 credits.

Our selection is based on what's in season, and we strive to offer variety and items that complement each other for meal preparation. To get a sense of our products, check this page: What we grow

The weight of your box will vary throughout the year since in June you will get a lot of salad items and September brings heavier items like winter squash and sweet potatoes.

You will receive an email letting you know what is in our curated "Farmers Pick" box for the week. If you choose, you can customize your box for the week or add additional items (see below).

We offer a variety of add-on items that can be purchased as a la carte additions to your weekly boxes. We are planning to offer eggs, mushrooms, coffee, herbs, flowers, honey, maple syrup, and other items as add-ons this year.

Can I choose what's in my box each week?

Yes! We have several ways of providing our members with choices each week, and ensuring that people go home only with items that they will use and love!

Members will have an online account. Each week you'll get an email letting you know what items we have curated in the Farmers Pick box that week. If it looks good to you, you don't have to do anything more, and we'll see you on your pick up day. You can also go into your account and trade out items in your box for other items that we have available at the farm that week. That way, if you aren't a kale fan, you can choose another item that week - maybe tomatoes, or onions! We'll pack your tailored box accordingly! You can preview our software system here.

We use "credits" in our software to assign a value to individual items in order to allow for box compilation and easy trading. For example, you can trade 6 credits of lettuce for 4 zucchini valued at 1 credit and a 2 credit pepper. We use round credit numbers for easy trading. For example, a zucchini migh be worth $1.25 if you bought it at the farmers market, but it might be listed in our software as 1 credit to allow for easy trading. The overall share cost considers the value of your share overall over the course of the season.

Add-on produce: If you are planning a special meal or need additional veggies beyond the value of your weekly box, you can purchase extra items via your online member account each week if you link a debit or credit card.

What if I go on vacation and have to miss a week?

We have a flex policy that allows members to skip weeks:

In the summer, weekly members can skip two weeks: one is scheduled as a makeup week and the credits from the other week can be spent for veggie add-ons from our farm during other weeks in the summer season. In the summer, biweekly members can skip one week and can either receive a makeup week or credits to use for add-on veggies.

In the fall season, all members receive one flex week for which they'll receive credits to use for add-on veggies in the fall season. See our member agreement for details.

Other Local and Ethically-sourced items we offer

We offer additional items from our farm and from other local farms which members can add on to their weekly orders if they have a paypal or credit card linked as a payment method. Here are some of the items we offer as add-ons:
Pasture-raised GMO-free soy-free Eggs
We offer pasture-raised eggs from hens raised on our farm as add-ons. We rotate the chickens around on our pasture, and feed them GMO-free soy-free feed from Ernst Feed and Livestock (Maryland).

Pasture-raised GMO-free soy-free Chicken
We also offer cuts of chicken meat: breast, thighs, drumsticks, wings, etc. from chickens raised on our farm. We rotate the chickens around on our pasture, and feed them GMO-free soy-free feed from Ernst Feed and Livestock (Maryland).

Mushrooms
We offer delicious mushrooms as an add-on from our neighbors down Goshen Rd, the amazing Mon Valley Mushrooms!

Local pork and beef
We will offer local meats from our trusted local producer partners such as Daystar Farm.

Coffee
FIRSTHAND coffee is fair-trade and top quality. FIRSTHAND Coffee Cooperative is a Morgantown-based cooperative that is committed to sustainable economic development. FIRSTHAND sources coffee directly from small farmer cooperatives in Nicaragua, cutting out the middlemen in the coffee supply chain in order to ensure that those farmers are getting a fair price and can make a decent livelihood.  And the coffee is delicious too!

Other Local items
We currently source the other items for add-on purchase for CSA members: honey (R&A Honey, Parsons, WV); maple syrup (Heasley Homestead, Bruceton Mills, WV).
